Curious as to how many want to keep or remove the day/night cycle. As for the stuttering lag, that can be fixed by turning Load Textures on Demand off in the launcher settings. FPS-wise I’m not seeing anything personally but I suppose it could be different for others.

FPS didn't change because of the day/night cycle, in the middle of the map I have a solid 60 fps, just like before without the cycle, at 1 corner of the map 40/50 fps, just like before. If you're FPS did change then thats because of the map
@wulf Its not about FPS my friend, its about the constant lag spikes people get every minute or even second, also when you press L to open the logs you get a freeze which lasts more than 5 seconds sometimes. Me and my friends had the same problem on pax2, because it was the same day/night cycle. Those lagspikes literally only appear when the cycle is activated. Also it looks pretty shit, even for Mount & Blade standards.

If you open the warband launcher and go to configuration, if you go to video and disable load textures on demand I think that fixes the problem (?) could be wrong.
saptor @boar I know, already did that and it works but it still looks shit and causes problems for people which dont know. Personally, the community should decide whether its getting disabled or not

Well, Then we'd tell them. the Day/Night cycle adds some atmosphere to the RP, bandits can rob easier at night, people wont go into the forest at night.
If we know the fix, and it works, then theres no reason for it to be removed.
I agree with Wulf, when I played by bandit/thief I was desperate for a day/night cycle, happy to have one now. No point in disabling a nice feature because of a small glitch that can be fixed if people just ask us how.
on a personal note, i think it adds atmosphere and as previously mentioned, makes it easier for bandits to commit their wrongdoings so i'd like to keep it
i agree the night looks like shit and the fact that there's two suns is annoying but more pros than cons for me

Shit FPS and looks worse than von Pig. Get rid of it. . . .
Forces you to put on specific settings for it to be playable, new people might not understand why they're lagging etc. which also sucks. And might scare new RPers away. Not worth it . . . .
Summary of debate points, for anyone who is just tuning in:
For Night/Day Cycle: -Adds a neat Day/Night Cycle for better RP -Stuttering can be countered by turning off 'load textures on demand'
Against Night/Day Cycle: -Likely causes frame drop in lower-end PCs -Causes frustrating stuttering/screen freezing for new players (or anyone that doesn't know about the fix) -(Subjective) Not very aesthetic
To be honest it makes me lag so badly every minute even with the fixes that it subconsciously makes me not want to play, like how I felt in previous servers that tried to implement the day night cycle.
Also I think it's bad as new players who will join the server and won't know why the lag/freezes are happening and won't know how to fix it either, and will just give up on trying and leave the server, losing us a growing population.
I think we lose more than we gain, especially since it doesn't even look good. I'd say just manually put it to nighttime version of the map every once in a while but the cycle looks and feels terrible, just my two cents.
