The Good:
* The non-faction characters greatly outnumber formal faction characters. This is really refreshing and kinda unusual. I think it's because of generous item requests.
* The RP hubs are all relatively close. It doesn't feel like a slog to travel between Bracca and Nomar to find a scene. Most previous maps have been too large. Remember how far you'd have to travel to get to the McKinnon keep in CRP4(?)? I hated leaving town.
* Having the server be almost entirely Swadian and Rhodok is good for RP because they're the closest thing to "blank slate" boring factions. You can be anything. Nord, Khergit and Sarranid factions all come with baggage and assumptions that make them worse for RP.
* I like how most of the nobles don't wear their armour unless the situation calls for it. I like how they all basically value peace to varying degrees.
* I like that horses are uncommon. They have once again become status symbols.
* The criminal element to Nomar's inner power struggle is basically driving the most interesting RP atm and it's kinda unique and different, thanks to a select few talented RPers driving it.
* I like how we've had extended tension between Nomar and Bracca without anyone going "lol let's just war." Tension is good and the climax is better the longer you draw it out. Don't blow your load too soon. Get some proper foreplay going.
* I like how people are understanding that not every event has to be a massive server-wide thing. Often the best events are little mini-quests where a staff member acts like a GM in DnD and guides a handful of players on an adventure. Do that more. Do a murder mystery.
* The staff team's vibe is generally decent and laid back compared to CRP. I haven't had any bad experiences. Seems like they throw their weight around less.
The Bad:
* Making crafting restrictive is still basically leading to the same situation as on every server: Crafters are absurdly rich already.
* The Bracca keep has two dining halls and an entirely empty room on the ground floor. A hospital and some extra non-teleport door bedrooms would be nice.
* Staff prioritize their RP scenes over staffing a lot. It's my philosophy that it should be the other way around but I know that's just me.
* Staff are too nit-picky with biographies. You can handhold someone all you want through meeting your exact standards but they'll still RP the same way. Biographies should be a dossier to explain why the character is there and what they can do but staff instead treat it as a kinda "prove your worth, peasant" test.
* The staff team has like 5 or 6 tiers of hierarchy. This is sad. You need three tiers tops and that level of bureaucracy speaks to dick-measuring and status-seeking. I like how on MBRP there was just "admins" "trial admins" and "flav" and that's all.
* The Bracca garrison captain's helmet looks dumb and I want a sallet end of story.
All in all it almost feels like a new chapter in warband RP and I frankly haven't been this interested or excited in a server since CRP1 or before.
