15 May 1257, at the gates of Tadsamesh
The news of the conquest of Tilbaut quickly spred all across the kingdom. It is said, the Duke of Dhirim was so distressed and shocked by the news that almost threw one of his servants out of a window, in the main hall of the swadian city. Tilbaut was, for a very long time, an unconquerable keep, warden of the swadian border facing the Vaegirs, an impregnable wall of tin in defense of the kingdom... Now sacked by an army of invaders, angry for loot, that knows no law nor God that could stop them and punish them for their misdeeds. This is indeed a dire day for the Kingdom of Swadia.
To make matters worse, the once thriving town of Tadsamesh is now a lawless wasteland where a daring raider commands his horde to launch raids both against the Tsardom and the Swadian Kingdom. Knyaz Nalder of Curaw, the Marshall of the Vaegir Tsardom, grows restless everyday as the mere presence of Tætærqan ve Raydamadag, the warlord of the nomads, is an insult to his prestige and a danger for the invading vaegir army. Now, on command of the Marshall himself, the Vaegir army is leading their retinues to Tadsamesh, in order to free the city from the rebel host and finally end the first stage of the invasion, streghtening the vaegir power all over the swadian border.
"To the brave Boyars, Zentorosh, Litovoi and Rosomakha....
The city of Tadsamesh, before the arrival of the nomads, was a thriving hub of trade: being close the border with our glorious nation, the settlement was known to be a stop for the caravans and the merchants going to Reyvadin or Suno. His last mayor, sir Gararic Eberulfing, was an old man, loyal vassal of Count Rodrik and the steward of the county itself. The city is built on a hill that overlook a vast plain where caravans pass by, from the walls your enemies will be able to overlook the entire region for miles and miles away. The only blind spot there is the forest that stands north-east, where a huge quarry is. The new master of the holding now is Tætærqan ve Raydamadag, a filthy traitor that has been raiding the surrounding areas for weeks now. He was sent to Tadsamesh on order of the Knyaz but he turned his back to him and now he's refusing to hand over the holding as he wants to keep it for himself. Beware, Boyars, the Warlord is an extremely dangerous man, as like most of the warriors from the Taiga he's cunning, merciless and unpredictable and even if some other noblemen question his sanity you shouldnt underestimate him. His men are not expert of siege warfare, but they will keep you busy in the plains with their horses before you even reach the walls.
If you manage to reconquer Tadsamesh, our Marshall will be surely grateful."
The city of Tadsamesh is a small scale city placed near the border with the Vaegir Tsardom. It is part of the county of Tilbaut and it represents the most populated settlement in the county even if not the most garrisoned and protected. Before the arrival of the Vaegir the city was managed by a council of local noblemen that used to elect a mayor every twenty years. This form of government was partly inspired by the aristocracies of the rhodok cities and led the city to become, from a village, city during a century of costant growth. The city is a important hub of trade that opens the door to the huge swadian eastern and central plains of Dhirim and Suno and has been just recently granted the privilege of being called a city by the Duke of Dhirim itself.
