Krenn Roleplay
Server Rules & Regulations
(For both staff and non-staff)
The server is the main place where we as players can role play with our characters and interact with the characters of other players. The staff asks you to follow these rules and regulations to ensure that the server has some productive role play. These rules and regulations are enforced by the staff. Failure to comply with these rules may result in a warning or ban from the server.Of course, rules never are perfect. These aren't either. They will be updated when new things will be found that have to be mentioned in the server rules.
Note: These rules have recently been revised and updated with the release of Krenn5.
1. This is an English speaking server. All communication must be written in English.
2. This is a role play server. It is expected from you to role play here.
Rules that count for staff & Apply to Players
3. Staff members can't enforce in or deal with situations that involve their character.
3.1 Powers that come with being a staff member may not be used for their own, their character's or other character's benefit.
3.2 Staff members must only check logs in the name of conducting their duties. Doing so for personal purposes is not allowed.
3.3 Staff members who are conducting an investigation have the right to question any player at any time regarding any action.
3.4 When playing a noble any staff member must take a temporary leave from the staff team.
Characters
4. A character must have a more or less realistic name which fits into the medieval setting in which Krenn Role Play is located. The name also must fit in with the lore of Calradia.
4.1 Characters may not be named after a real-life person, whether living now or long ago in history or a person from fiction, whether it is from books, movies or anything else.
4.2 Names must consist of AT LEAST a first name. Surnames are preferable, titles are not allowed.
4.3 Troll characters are not allowed. This includes deliberately malformed characters.
4.4 Previous characters, which have been used in an earlier scenario, are not allowed to be brought back and used again. Any characters related to the previous characters are not allowed either.
4.5 Your own characters are not allowed to know each other in any way.
4.6 You are not allowed to transfer any items or money between your characters using third parties.
Roleplay
4.7 ERP (Erotic Role Play) is not allowed. Whilst we still allow FTB and romantic relationships we ask that ERP is moved to an alternative method of communication or done away with completely. Any form of FTB requires out-of-character consent beforehand.
4.7.1 Torture RP is to be kept at an absolute minimum on the server, and is to be treated in much the same way as ERP is. FTBing torture is preferable, and if the tortured party agrees to a torture scene, it is to be taken to steam or to a private area of the map. Torturing without someone's permission is punishable accordingly.
4.7.2 The definition of ERP is the following: "Roleplaying sexual activity, or romantic activity of a lewd, obscene or disgusting nature." This rule will be enforced and punishments will be handed out on a case-to-case basis.
4.8 ERP/fading to black with child characters and teen characters is not allowed and stands a permanent ban and blacklist from all future scenarios.
4.1.1 If you wish for your noble character to leave map or return, you must have approval from senior staff.
Child Characters and Realism
4.1.2 Child characters are characters between the age of 10 and 16 years old. Past 16 and older you're an adult character
4.1.3 To play a child character you must include this in your bio. Child characters are shown on the server by the C_ tag before their name.
4.1.4 Child characters can not wield anything but short bows, hunting bows, one handed weapons and hunting crossbows. Armor is to not exceed tier 2
4.1.5 Child characters must beat competing rolls by at least 25, or they lose the roll. (These do not apply to rolls for pickpocketing.)
4.1.6 Every IRL month, a child character WILL age a year. As will everyone else.
4.1.7 Once the character has reached the age of 16, they are no longer a child character. At this point contact the admin team with a ticket to get your items, money and any other possessions (keys/horses) transferred to the grown-up version of the same character.
4.1.8 Female warriors are allowed yet are limited in the armour they can use. This limit is 40+ for all characters and goes for all forms of armour. If a player wishes to exceed this limit they are required to apply via ticket.
4.2.0 When playing as an event character regardless of the situation you are expected to keep to certain standards. This includes not trolling, staying IC, upholding the integrity of the event. If players are found to be in breach of this rule they may be blacklisted from playing any future event characters.
In-Game Chat
5. The Out Of Character chat (both global and local, default key T and Q) is there to exchange information or used by staff to inform players. This is there to support the role play, not to encourage chatting that can take place on Steam. Therefore refrain from using OOC chat if it is not needed.
5.1 Insulting other players is not allowed.
5.2 You may not share IC information in the OOC chat.
5.3 The Staff Chat (Backspace) is for communication with the players. You may not spam this chat.
Metagaming and powergaming
7. Metagaming is a term which describes a player's use of real-life knowledge concerning the state of the game to determine their character's actions when said character has no relevant knowledge or awareness under the circumstances. Metagaming is forbidden and can lead to a ban.
7.1 Using the forum, Steam, Discord, TeamSpeak, LOOC or any other medium for communication or talking IRL to get knowledge about characters and using that information IC is considered metagaming.
7.2 Even if realism would allow it, it is not allowed under any circumstances that IC information is shared within multiple characters of a player in order to gain knowledge on a certain event or action.
7.3 Powergaming is a particular way of playing in which the player tries to have his will/way to win, often when the player can not win IC wise with their character, they'll try OOC'ly with extending the powers of said character beyond what's realistically possible in terms of role play. Powergaming is not allowed in any possible situation.
7.4 Forcing things OOC that affect IC is considered powergaming unless said otherwise.
7.5 Abusing the local chat system in order to gain IC information that your character would not hear is considered metagaming and powergaming. Shouts can be heard through a door, talking is inaudible.
7.6 Failing to value life above death for your character is also seen as powergaming in most situations.
7.7 Failing to role play wounds is considered powergaming. Wounds should be role played accordingly.
Glitching and Exploitation of bugs
8. Any bugs or glitches found in the module or the map should be reported to the staff team. Abuse of bugs and/or exploiting them for personal gain is strictly forbidden.
8.1 Cliff-glitching, which is walking up to steep cliffs when one isn't able to do so in reality, is not allowed.
8.2 Glitching through doors that might not work correctly is not allowed and the malfunction should instead be reported to the staff team.
8.3 Using a horse to glitch through doors or walls, called horse glitching, is strictly forbidden.
8.4 Use of one's inventory during a hostile situation for any purpose other than equipping new ammunition is prohibited (e.g during a robbery, or a skirmish).
Getting into a fight
10. In order to enter combat you must inform the other party of your intent through typing in-game Looc // Combat warning. After stating your intent to enter combat you must wait for 10 seconds to allow the other party time to prepare. If the other party clearly shows that they are ready for combat (eg. Running away, drawing weapons,) you may attack.
10.1 Rdming is not allowed and you will need a reason to enter combat.
Wound Role Play
11. Wounds have to be roleplayed; not roleplaying wounds is seen as powergaming. Not adhering to wound role play may result in the Force CK of your character.
11.1 Physicians are characters who have applied and had their professions accepted in-forum. Only those with an approved Physician profession can treat wounds.
11.2 After being KOed, you’re to sit in place for 3 minutes (unless being taken/carried away by another character WHO IS NOT WOUNDED), after which you can crawl/hobble away.
11.6 If your character is KO'd, you can not fight or resist emotes for however long it takes for your wounds to be recovered.
11.7 If you are carrying/dragging someone, it is mandatory to toggle the walking animation on. You may not hold any item in your hands whilst doing this.
Faction Buildings
12. The main keep of settlements are considered 'safe-zones', and can not be attacked without OOC approval in the form of feuds, wars, or KA tickets. Refer to the Wars&Battles rules here regarding conduct during Feuds and War.
12.1 The gates of settlements cannot be broken down to force entry without a KA ticket (or a feud/war) on the settlement’s keep. Unless a gate is left open, when server population is below 15 any closed gate should be presumed barred.
12.2 Keep Assaults can happen due to a feud/war or be applied for in a ticket. You can also ask the other party if they accept it. Otherwise any combat inside KA/safe zones is not allowed (unless explicitly approved ICly by the settlement faction leadership).
12.3 If a force keep assaulting another keep through a ticket falls back to their own keep during the assault, their keep can immediately be counter-assaulted, this will be enforced by staff.
12.4 When an attack on a keep, settlement or any gate is in process, including but not limited to Keep Assaults (see rule 12.1), the only way to open a gate from the outside is if it has explictly NOT been barred from the inside. If a staff member states that the gate in question has in fact been barred, you are NOT allowed to open the gate from the outside, the only way will be to break it. This rule applies regardless if the gate is locked or unlocked by scripts.
Character Kills (CK)
13. Character Kills, or CK, are permanent. From that moment on the character is dead. Logging back on any CK'ed character is not allowed.
13.1 Character Kill Requests can be made via the forum ticket section or be requested in game depending on the situation. Both require administrators to review the case.
13.2 Once a player has been CKed they are not allowed to transfer any of their items or gold to other players without proper admin supervision.
13.3 Characters can be force CKed if they are found to break server rules (eg. disregarding wound RP)
Banditry
14.1 Banditry can only take place with 15+ players online, EXCLUDING the bandit and any "gang members" (eg. a group of 3 bandits will require atleast 18 players online to rob players).
14.2 Outside of feuds/wars looting rate is 15% up to a maximum cap of 1500, between feuding/waring factions or organisations it is 20% up to 3000.
14.3 You may not steal from a chest unless you have permission from staff.
14.4 Any act of banditry must be adequately roleplayed with some degree of dialogue/emotes.
14.5 After any act of banditry, the players must elude and stay hidden from possible pursuers for twenty minutes before being allowed to log off.
Horses
15. Owning a horse is a privilege and it must be used responsibly. Horses may only be whistled and dismissed (with the '/whistle' and the '/dismiss' command) at horse stables, which are spread around the map on different locations. You may not kill horses that stand in stables or anywhere else unless a staff member allows it.
15.1 Horses can be summoned in combat or other hostile situations as long as the correct stable is used.
15.2 Anyone who uses the horse to glitch through walls or doors, or to break any other rules will result in the immediate removal of the horse and additional punishments. Saying that you have the key to the door IC'ly, but not OOC'ly is not a valid excuse.
15.3 Horses may not be whistled to regain lost hit points. You are only allowed to dismiss your horse 15 minutes after combat has ended.
15.4 Horses that've been wounded/koed cannot be rewhistled for the duration of 24 hours as to roleplay the wounds of the horse. Rewhistling the horse before the appropriate timer has passed will result in horses being wounded for prolonged times or even dying outright.
Wealth Transfers
16. Wealth transfers are not allowed. A wealth transfer is defined as the act of transfering money or gear from one character of a player to another character of the same player. Participating in a wealth transfer by being a middleman between the characters is also not allowed. The only exception to this is rule 16.2.
16.1 If you are found transferring your wealth both characters involved will either have their wealth removed or ck'd by staff.
16.2 Wealth transfers may be done by staff after a character has been CKed or permanently retired from the scenario. A proportion of the character's previous wealth (in both gold and items) may be transferred to a new character according to a new formula. Any wealth transfer must be conducted by staff. You may only receive one wealth transfer per character and can not combine different characters together. Make sure to create some kind of proof of your wealth before /wipeall.
Other general rules not covered by any of the above sectionst
17. Every player must use common sense. Just because a rule is not written, does not mean it is not a rule break. This is up to the staff to judge.
17.1 Every player has the right to take any kind of OOC actions IC.
17.2 Complaints both in-game and on the forums must be factual and reasonable.
17.3 Any voice communication should be done via the Official discord with Staff approval and supervision. We ask that the community uses common sense when voice communication is appropriate and request staff supervision to ensure no meta-gaming occurs.
